The Academy has developed aims which seek to promote excellence in all areas of student activity. In particular we seek to support students so that they develop confidence in themselves and in each other; tolerance and respect for themselves and others irrespective of background, religion, race and gender; self-discipline and social awareness; lively and enquiring minds and the ability to argue rationally and make judgements; understanding of spiritual and moral concepts.
At Shireland we emphasise an international, technological and vocational culture.
We use ICT to enhance learning, make contact with other students worldwide and overcome barriers to cultural understanding.
